Position Title: Communications Director Salary Range: $84,500.73 - $135,442.83 Job Description Summary: Join our team as a Communications Director, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping internal communication strategies to engage and inform our diverse workforce. You'll work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals while driving effective communication channels. Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Internal Communication Strategy: Develop and implement strategic internal communication plans aligned with organizational objectives. Oversee internal communication platforms and content, ensuring consistency in messaging and tone. Leadership Communication: Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver executive communications, providing strategic guidance on effective communication methods. Content Development: Create engaging content for various internal platforms tailored to different employee segments. Change Management Communication: Lead internal communication efforts during organizational change, promoting transparency and facilitating smooth transitions. Employee Engagement Programs: Design initiatives to enhance employee engagement and morale, integrating communication into recognition and development programs. Internal Events Communication: Develop communication plans for internal events, ensuring seamless communication before, during, and after. Measurement and Feedback: Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives, gathering employee feedback for continuous improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration across teams to ensure alignment of internal messaging with external communication efforts. Department Support: Manage external agencies and vendors as needed, staying current with industry trends and best practices. Reputation Management: Develop strategies to maintain and enhance the organization's public image, monitoring public perceptions and addressing issues proactively. Public Relations: Serve as a key contact for media interactions and external engagements, coordinating with legal and regulatory teams for compliance. Crisis Communication: Lead the development and implementation of crisis communication plans, ensuring rapid response during sensitive situations. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Continuous Improvement: Provide leadership for marketing team improvement, including trainings and professional development opportunities. Fiscal and Budgetary Responsibilities: Support in the development and review of marketing budgets and headcounts. Strategic Leadership: Support the Chief Marketing Officer in providing strategic marketing thought leadership to internal teams. Additional Job Description: Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field, with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in internal communications or related roles. Proven leadership experience in developing and executing internal communication strategies. Minimum requirements for the Senior Communications Director: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field, with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in internal communications or related roles. Extensive leadership experience in developing and executing internal communication strategies. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Communications, Business, or related field. Certification in Internal Communications or Change Management. Experience in remote or multi-location organizations. Experience in crisis communication and reputation management. Salary Range: Communications Director: $84,500.73 - $118,301.02 per fiscal year. Senior Communications Director: $96,744.88 - $135,442.83 per fiscal year. Location: This is a remote position, subject to telecommuting policies. The ideal candidate should be located in Minnesota, with occasional meetings at our headquarters in Staples.
