Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Denial Management Coding Analyst to join our team, dedicated to maintaining a low denial rate and ensuring high reimbursement rates at an enterprise level. In this role, you will uphold rigorous coding standards and lead projects aimed at enhancing coding effectiveness, reimbursement rates, and appeal turnover. Your responsibilities will include analyzing denial trends, conducting EPIC system edits, validating coding accuracy, overseeing Charge Description Master (CDM) processes affecting reimbursement, and monitoring authorization trends. You will collaborate closely with departments to educate on billing and coding compliance, and work alongside managed care and compliance teams to resolve issues with payers. Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required, along with certification (CPC, COC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS) and 1-2 years of coding experience, including 1-2 years in insurance or denial management. Preferably, an Associate's degree or higher in a health or business-related field, with at least 3 years of experience in coding, billing, insurance follow-up, collections, or denial management in a hospital or clinical setting. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: In-depth understanding of hospital billing, reimbursement processes, denials, and appeals. Familiarity with third-party contracts and federal/state regulations governing the healthcare industry. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proven organizational skills, capable of working independently and prioritizing tasks effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to educate and collaborate across departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with HIPAA guidelines. Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and navigate complex computer systems. Strong research and problem-solving capabilities to address coding and reimbursement challenges effectively. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: This position does not involve operating vehicles for business purposes. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required.
