Position Overview We are seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our team in Herndon, VA or Aurora, CO, supporting Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customers. As part of our dynamic team, you will engage with cutting-edge service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution. The EMMETT program, our next-generation Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, aims to establish a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), identify RSOs of interest, and provide essential data to ground operators. Leveraging programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise, our team delivers world-class SDA I&W solutions. Responsibilities As a Junior Software Developer, you will: Develop TS/SCI Java software modules, employing techniques such as event-driven or state-driven programming, error logging, and exception handling. Conduct TS/SCI software analysis, architecture, engineering, and integration services at various levels, from unit to system. Execute all aspects of software engineering support necessary for system implementation, adhering to open standards and modern software development methodologies. Generate technical reports, white papers, and other documentation to document findings and software engineering service activities. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience; equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment. Proficiency in Java (Model, Entity, Data Transfer Object (DTO), Data Access (DAO)). Experience with the Spring framework, JUnit test creation, Remote Debugging (JDWP), and Spring Framework - MapStruct Annotations. Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL, REDIS, Linux distributions, and command navigation. Knowledge of Messaging technologies like ActiveMQ and Camel Route, as well as web application basics (HTTP, HTML, REST, WebSocket, CSS, and JavaScript). Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Gerrit/GIT, and familiarity with Microservices, Containerization, and Kubernetes. Desired: Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python. Familiarity with web server configuration on NGINX, Apache, or similar, Bootstrap, and Less. Experience with NiFi, developing flows and process groups. Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification or working toward certification.
