Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) to join our team on a remote basis. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity and quality of our cancer data registry. As a CTR, you will play a pivotal role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting cancer-related data to support research, public health initiatives, and patient care. Key Responsibilities: Cancer Data Collection: Accurately collect, abstract, and analyze cancer data from various sources, including medical records, pathology reports, and diagnostic imaging. Tumor Registry Management: Maintain a comprehensive database of cancer cases, including patient demographics, tumor characteristics, treatment modalities, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Data Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous quality checks to ensure data integrity and reliability, adhering to established coding standards. Cancer Surveillance: Monitor and report on trends in cancer incidence, prevalence, and survival rates, conducting regular follow-ups with patients. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit detailed reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders to aid in research and healthcare planning. Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers and other cancer registrars to exchange information and ensure continuity of care. Education and Training: Stay current with cancer registration standards and provide training to staff on data management practices. Compliance and Privacy: Handle sensitive patient information with the utmost confidentiality, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other data privacy regulations. Research Support: Assist researchers in accessing and analyzing cancer data for studies and clinical trials. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for cancer patients, promoting access to quality care and resources to improve their outcomes and quality of life. Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma/GED Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification RHIA and RHIT certifications 3 years of experience in Tumor Registry within an acute care hospital or equivalent abstracting experience Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Compensation: Pay: $45.00 per hour Additional Information: This is a full-time, remote contract position lasting 8 weeks.
