Role Overview As a Project Development Manager, you will become an integral part of our close-knit team, consisting of passionate bitcoin enthusiasts, engineers, and energy specialists. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead our project development workflow, driving the creation of a robust project pipeline in emerging power markets. This entails leading diligence efforts to evaluate projects' technical, financial, environmental, and permitting requirements. Collaboration across the organization is key, as you will liaise with customers and stakeholders to bring projects to fruition. Furthermore, as we expand, your role will evolve to include team building, strategic planning, and shaping the trajectory of our company towards a more decentralized and sustainable future. Your Responsibilities Develop comprehensive project plans, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution, while overseeing team activities. Foster collaborative relationships with landowners, consultants, and engineering firms to meet project deadlines and milestones. Coordinate internal efforts to conduct project Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on behalf of energy companies. Organize and maintain internal systems and project management tools for streamlined operations. Contribute to the formulation of site prospecting workflows and development strategies. Cultivate a deep understanding of various energy markets and regulatory landscapes to facilitate the realization of interruptible data center projects. Lead projects by inspiring respect and trust, providing vision, and mobilizing team members towards shared goals. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing utility-scale energy projects or energy storage projects. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, Environmental Studies, etc.). Proven track record of successfully developing utility-scale projects across multiple markets. Sound understanding of utility-scale energy project value propositions, engineering design, and fundamentals. Familiarity with power sales arrangements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and retail agreements, as well as energy markets. Experience with land lease contracts, permitting, interconnection, and other entitlements required for renewable energy projects. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively. Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in project management tools and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach towards tackling new challenges. Desired Skills and Experience Passion for sustainable energy and the principles of sound money. Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of substation designs and the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) stages of infrastructure development. Background in engineering, finance, or project management. Experience in battery development and familiarity with capacity markets and ancillary services markets. Exposure to Python, R, or other modeling languages and GIS modeling.
