Senior Data Engineer - Remote within the United States Responsibilities: Data Architecture and Integration: Design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines and infrastructure to integrate diverse data sources. ETL Processes: Build efficient ETL processes using various methods to facilitate seamless data movement between systems. Data Quality and Security: Implement and enforce data quality standards and security measures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with international data privacy regulations. Data Modeling: Design data models that transform complex organizational data into easily accessible structures for operational, analytics, and reporting needs. Data Transformation and Optimization: Utilize DBT or Snowflake native capabilities to transform and optimize data for accuracy, efficiency, and up-to-date insights. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and maintain comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes and workflows. Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence in handling educational data. Visualization with Tableau: Utilize Tableau to deliver impactful data insights through meaningful visualizations. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a strong emphasis on data-related technologies. Experience: 5+ years of significant experience in data engineering roles, focusing on scalable data solutions. Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala. Database Expertise: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly proficiency in Snowflake. Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, leveraging cloud-based solutions. Machine Learning Knowledge: Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts and a desire to expand expertise in this area. Version Control: Knowledge of Git or Azure DevOps for managing codebase versioning. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for addressing complex data engineering challenges in educational data contexts. Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry best practices in data engineering. Nice to Have: Experience with TIBCO EBX. Familiarity with low-code ETL tools like Boomi. Exposure to Azure for Data Engineering tasks such as function apps and other Azure functionalities for building data pipelines.
