We are seeking a seasoned Senior GIS Business Analyst to join a dynamic team in Houston, TX. This role is part of a cutting-edge initiative focused on enhancing Landfill Greenhouse Gas Emissions Monitoring and Reduction efforts for a Fortune 500 client. As a key member, you will play a vital role in developing and deploying a platform to manage methane emissions data and support sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications. Manage document repositories and ensure the upkeep of project documentation. Create workflow diagrams and screen mockups to facilitate project understanding. Act as a liaison between technology and business teams, driving the development and enhancement of systems. Conduct in-depth business process analysis and cost/benefit assessments to align technology solutions with strategic initiatives. Lead project teams in achieving business user acceptance and evaluating project progress. Resolve issues internally and externally, ensuring timely resolution and workflow efficiency. Work closely with development and testing teams to clarify requirements and review test cases. Define acceptance criteria for stories and defects. Required Skills & Experience: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Minimum 5 years of experience as a business analyst in an applications development environment. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Proven track record in producing requirements artifacts for successful IT projects. Preferred Skills: Experience in all phases of project development lifecycle in large, global team environments. Proficiency in AutoDesk/AutoCAD and ArcGIS. Certification such as CBAP or CCBA is a plus. Ability to work independently and lead projects effectively. Background in Quality Assurance or related roles. Familiarity with user interface/user experience design principles. Knowledge of data analysis and databases (MS SQL and/or Oracle).
