Challenging Opportunity in Procurement Position Summary: As a Buyer, you will leverage your expertise to handle various purchasing activities such as negotiating terms, securing volume discounts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services from suppliers. Your role will involve applying government regulations to procurement processes and aligning them with management objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Reviewing MRP (SAP) order action messages, resolving issues, and managing schedules to ensure timely shipment. - Processing changes, reschedules, and outside processing to meet production schedule goals. - Ensuring customer satisfaction by achieving on-time deliveries of high-quality products, including handling special requests and expediting when necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not involve supervising direct or indirect reports. Minimum Qualifications: - Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. - Field of Study/Area of Experience: 5+ years of experience in production control, material/inventory management in a defense or aerospace setting. Skills and Abilities: - Strong planning, organizational, and motivational skills. - Proficiency in the MRP (SAP) system. - General knowledge of machine shop practices and military spares standards. - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Computerized MRP system. - Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs. Physical Requirements: - Office/Sedentary Environment: Ability to sit for extended periods, hear the telephone, enter data on a computer, and lift up to 10 pounds. - Manufacturing/Non-Sedentary Environment: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, or push up to 50 pounds, with potential exposure to dust.
